WATCH THIS SPACE. With an easing of restructions the Club is currently in discussions with the Council and Dogs Victoria regarding commencing training and how we will manage this with social distancing and tracking of class participants. The Club is hopeful that by mid June we will be able to offer training to our members.
New member enrolment sessions will take a little longer to recommence.
Baby Puppy Classes for puppies aged 8 to 12 weeks, may commence again in mid July.
For updates on the status of training, call Glenys 0407 523 741.
Welcome & Woof!
Northern Obedience Dog Club started in the early 1950's when a group of people interested in obedience began to meet regularly to train their dogs. We are proud to be the second oldest obedience club in Victoria, with over 600 paying members. Click here for more history.
We welcome handlers over the age of 10 years (with parents' signed permission & on-the-ground supervision).
Please note that we train on public parkland, so make sure you clear it with your vet first if your puppy is under 16 weeks old. Vaccinated dogs 6 months and older can start in Foundation Class (instead of Puppy Class).
We only accept dogs with valid Vaccination Certificates or a current Antibody Titre Test.
You will need a Club Membership! Simply walk-in (no booking required) to the Clubhouse without your dog, from Sunday 9:15am - 9:45am to register; then all new members must attend the 10:00am Introduction Class. All you need to bring is your dog's vaccination certificate and payment.
The Club trains people to train their dogs. Owners with dogs under 6 months start in Puppy Class (Sunday only); and all other members start in Foundation Class. We repeat the same exercises for each level and when you and your dog are ready, you will be promoted to the next level. We also offer Rally Obedience when instructors are available.
